Auckland Transport's proposing fees for park-and-rides and removing kerbside parking across the city, to try to lessen people's reliance on cars.
Under its new draft parking strategy, on-street parking on dozens of main roads could be taken away.
In its place would be more public transport infrastructure, like footpaths, mobility spaces, bikes and bus lanes.
Auckland Transport head of integrated network planning Andrew McGill spoke to Corin Dann.
