Strong winds have battered Auckland overnight and Fire and Emergency has responded to dozens of calls.
MetService is forecasted gale southwesterlies, gusting up to 110 kilometres an hour in the region on Thursday.
The speed limit on the Auckland Harbour Bridge was reduced and there were power outages as far north as Helensville and as far south as Whitford with Forrest hill, Penrose and Howick all affected.
Fire and Emergency's Northern Communications Centre shift manager Kaisei Coo, said there have been nearly a hundred call outs since 3am.
Cook says it is settled at the moment, but she is expecting things to start getting busy again soon and she's urging people to drive safely.
