A leading Australian geologist says the earthquake there yesterday was a big one and it was fortunate it did not occur under a major city.
Several buildings were damaged in Melbourne after a strong 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck at nine fifteen in the morning in regional Victoria.
Tremors were felt across the state, in New South Wales and in Adeleide.
Melbourne University emeritus professor and geologist Mike Sandiford spoke to Susie Ferguson.
