Mid-Canterbury farmers look set to face another tough day.
Between 300 to 400 millimetres of rainfall have fallen about the High Country over the past 24-hours.
Mid-Canterbury dairy farmer Rhys Roberts says the Ashburton River has swallowed up huge swaths of farmland - on one of their properties more than 100 hectares is underwater.
Several farmers had to be rescued as they got caught out in the floods attempting to reach their stock.
Mid-Canterbury Federated Farmers president David Clark spoke to Corin Dann.
