The Corrections Minister says change is on the way, as part of the fallout from a court case in which allegations of mistreatment at Auckland Women's Prison were made.
The judge took them seriously, and said it was "troubling" Corrections had not fronted anyone with any specific knowledge of the incidents in question.
The claims were made during an arson trial - the sentencing is later this morning. Minister Kelvin Davis told political reporter Charlie Dreaver he has concerns about the way Corrections responded to those allegations.

Corrections said in a statement it wasn't party to the proceedings and there was limited ability "to present contextual information" and won't be commenting until the case is done.
