A tanning company that continues to dump toxic chemicals down the drain is taking on a large new contract.
Tasman Tanning's Whanganui plant has topped RNZ's list of those breaching their trade waste consents, clocking up 570 breaches last year, and it continues to discharge too much chromium into the city's sewers.
RNZ understands that from April the plant will start processing hides and pelts from two Silver Fern Farms abattoirs, after the meat company ended its contract with the Hastings-based Lowe Corporation.
