The government's decision to keep all of the country on the most-restrictive Covid-19 setting is casting a red light over the hospitality sector.
In Auckland, the country's restaurant capital, many operators had hoped for a greater easing of restrictions.
Instead, venues will remain limited to 200 people indoors, customers will have to be seated and separated from other groups, and face masks will continue to be required in most settings.
Soul Bar & Bistro commercial and events manager Olivia Carter, and Crave Cafe general manager Nigel Cottle spoke to Susie Ferguson.
