It's day one of level 3, step 2, for Auckland and the deep cleaning has been done in preparation for shops and some attractions to re-open with distancing and reduced numbers.
Retailers are flinging open their doors for an expected rush of pent-up demand, while many museums, zoos and libraries are gradually re-opening.
Swimming pools, cinemas and theaters remain closed at step 2.
