New Covid-19 cases in the community jumped up to 45 yesterday, the highest daily figure since 2 September. All of the new cases are in Auckland.
Covid-19 response minister Chris Hipkins says that the government hasn't ruled out a gradual move down to level 2 for Auckland, and that New Zealanders shouldn't read too much into the high case figure.
Hipkins spoke to Susie Ferguson.
