Church leaders are weighing up if they will re-open only to vaccinated people when the traffic light system kicks in.
Those with more than 100 people in their services will have to wait on the orange light status in order to re-open.
That comes with a need to show a vaccine passport as the other option at orange - a limit of 50 people one metre apart - isn't workable.
Many churches in Auckland are already preparing to deliver Christmas services online.
