The government is being urged to put the brakes on its plan to ease Covid-19 restrictions in Auckland as cases soar.
It will confirm after Cabinet meets on Monday whether to go ahead as planned and allow shops to open and increase outdoor gathering limits.
With more than 300 new cases over the weekend, health experts fear daily case numbers could hit 1000 by Christmas if the spread is allowed to escalate further.
