The number of MIQ rooms available for people desperate to enter the country has been falling sharply since the beginning of the year.
Figures provided by the Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins show the number rooms booked on the MIQ website in July had dropped by more than a third when compared to the start of the year.
Changes to how hotels manage incoming flights and more spaces being left for groups such as sports teams are being blamed for the reduction.
