Fiji has reported four new Covid-19 cases overnight and authorities say they are bracing for a rise in infections this week.
The Suva and Nausori areas are under lockdown restrictions and the government has said that may extend beyond tomorrow if the Indian variant of the virus continues to spread.
The figures announced late last night mean Fiji is dealing with 49 active cases in the current outbreak, which has caused two deaths.
Pacific health specialist and University of Auckland associate professor of public health Dr Collin Tukuitonga spoke to Philippa Tolley.
