The government's financial books for the first half of 2021 have showcased an economy bouncing back from the uncertainties of 2020.
Finance Minister Grant Robertson is cheering a deficit of $4.6 billion for the year ending June 2021, a far cry from forecasts of over $15 billion.
This rosy economic picture doesn't factor in these last few months of extended lockdown in Auckland.
Not to mention an uncertain economic picture further afield.
