The Far North is now in alert level 3 lockdown after a two unlinked cases in the township of Taipa north of Kerkeri prompted a snap shift in alert levels last night.
A makeshift border is no in place from the Kaeo River bridge across to the north of the Hokianga Harbour.
Northland community leader Hone Harawira says he has concerns about how the local health system will fare if there is increased community transmission.
