A Kiwi human rights lawyer says the decision to suspend the return of New Zealand citizens from India is legal.
The government has implemented the travel ban from this Sunday until the 28 April due to a high percentage of passengers arriving from India infected with Covid-19.
On Thursday, 17 travellers arriving in New Zealand from India tested positive. India is struggling with a sustained outbreak of the virus, reporting a seven-day average of 93,000 cases a day.
Michael Bott is a human rights lawyer.
