Alert level 4 has changed the way pregnant people are able to be cared for by midwives.
Like many workforces during Covid-19, the midwifery workforce is stretched and adjustments have had to be made.
For self-employed midwives in particular, it's meant replacing some face to face sessions with virtual options such as the phone or a video.
College of Midwives chief executive Alison Eddy spoke to Susie Ferguson.
