The National Party is promising to fight against what it believes is New Zealand becoming a one-party dictatorship as Parliament shuts down for the next week.
The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says it is too risky for MPs to travel between regions and gather in the debating chamber under alert level 4.
Instead, Ministers and officials will appear before virtual select committees. National says the Government is shutting down debate.
