There's been a spike in cases of Covid-19 in Australia's New South Wales - the biggest daily rise in locally acquired cases of the virus this year.
Sydney is in its second week of a lockdown, and officials say the rise in infections is from people skirting the rules to visit family.
NSW reported 38 new local cases, up from 27 a day earlier, with 11 of those having spent time in the community while infectious.
Just over 9 percent of people in NSW have been fully vaccinated, while about 29 percent have had a first dose.
Deakin University public health expert professor Catherine Bennett spoke to Corin Dann.
