The National Party's health spokesperson says changes need to be made to boost ICU capacity for the Omicron outbreak.
National's Dr Shane Reti told Morning Report it's clear New Zealand's health system has been underprepared - but we need to look at what can be done now.
He says it needs to be easier for qualified intensive care nurses to immigrate here.
But Dr Reti also says some former staff might need to come back. 
 
He spoke to Corin Dann.
