An Auckland University lecturer says extremist elements of the anti-mandate protests is not likely to be actioned on by people in the protest.
One far right activist has, as part of a targeted attack on the media, has published a graphic image of public executions of Nazi war criminals.
Dr Chris Wilson says people who are provoked, or those who are watching online are more likely to act on the extremist views.
He says most threats are for show, but in some cases, people do act on them.
