The number of New Zealanders currently intending to get a Covid-19 vaccine won't be enough to allow the border to fully re-open
. Covid-19 modelling expert Michael Plank says 4 out of 5 of people in Aotearoa now intend to get the jab.
He says that falls short of the 90 percent of population target that would provide herd immunity.
The Canterbury University professor says achieving that target would "more than likely" involve vaccinating under 16-year-olds too.
The government revealed its plan to vaccinate the general adult population by the end of 2021 on Thursday.
Reporter Kate Gregan hit the streets of Auckland to get reaction.
