The Down Syndrome Association says the community is heartbroken, in shock and outraged after the death of 27-year-old Lena Zhang Harrap.
Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of Harrap, who had Down Syndrome.
The national executive officer of the Association Zandra Vaccarino told Morning Report while the incident is tragic, it is an anomaly and it shouldn't stop people with the syndrome living a full and happy life.
Vaccarino says there has been an incredible outpouring of support following Harrap's death.
