Former All Blacks prop Carl Hayman has joined a group of former players suing World Rugby after being diagnosed with early-onset dementia.
The 41-year-old father of four - a former world class prop - said ceaseless headaches sent him into a spiral of alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts.
Sports journalist Dylan Cleaver wrote about it in his his blog "The Bounce" and on the Spinoff website.
Cleaver spoke to Susie Ferguson.
