President Vladimir Putin has held an impromptu meeting with Russia's powerful Security Council - amid growing fears of an imminent invasion of Ukraine.
In what's likely to be seen as a provocative move, Putin asked his council to consider recognising the independence of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine which are controlled by Russian-back separatists.
