Major new fishing restrictions are to be put in place to rejuvenate the Hauraki Gulf.
The Government has just announced 18 marine reserves will be in place within three years and there will be restrictions on bottom trawling.
However, there are concerns this will pit commercial and recreational fishers against each other.
New Zealand Recreational Fishing Council president Keith Ingram spoke to Susie Ferguson.
