Health Minister Andrew Little has announced hospital waiting lists will be managed nationally.
He says managing the waiting lists nationally will cut the time people are waiting for operations and appointments that were postponed during the pandemic.
The Minister says the work will be overseen by a taskforce led by the Counties Manukau chief medical officer, Andrew Connolly.
