Border exemptions have been granted for 126 cast and crew members of the Disney Broadway production of the Lion King.
The production is due to premiere in Auckland in June. 
The government says returning New Zealanders get priority but spaces are allocated for concerts and sports events. 
Minister of Immigration Kris Faafoi spoke to Susie Ferguson.
