A class-action lawsuit by owners of leaky homes against the building materials supplier James HardieĀ is underway in the High Court in Auckland.
More than 1000 people accuse the company of selling them dodgy products making their homes waterlogged and mouldy.
The claim James Hardie knew its Harditex cladding was leaky, but continued to sell it for some years through to the product's withdrawal in 2005.
Collectively the plaintiffs are seeking about $220 million in damages for leaks in 376 buildings.
Susie Ferguson spoke to one of the plaintiffs, Sharon Leigh, who owns a leaky house in the Wellington suburb of Whitby.
