A New Zealand Muslim leader says the plan for accomodating the man behind a stabbing attack at a west Auckland Countdown weren't good enough.
Sri Lankan national Ahamed Aathill Mohamed Samsudeen was shot dead by police after stabbing six supermarket customers on Friday.
The attack came 53 days after the was housed in the annex of Masjid e Bilal - a small Islamic Centre in west Auckland - and came under round-the-clock police surveillance.
New Zealand Muslim Association president Ikhlaq Kashkari says the living arrangements were catastrophically wrong for him.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
