M?ori academics say they're having to pull double-shifts - both as researchers, and as unpaid cultural guides for their non-M?ori colleagues.
That's from a new study which found that many M?ori scientists are left with little time for their own work because they're expected to explain te ao M?ori to their workmates, while they're also charged with explaining to wh?nau, iwi and hap? what the science sector is trying to achieve.
AUT University professor of management Jarrod Haar is a co-author of the study.
He whakapapas to Ng?ti Maniapoto and Ng?ti Mahuta.
