The marine sector is worried the 20 foreign superyachts moored here will sail to Australia, which lets vessels in from New Zealand without quarantine.
The Marine Industry Association is in talks with government officials to set up a trans-Tasman sea travel bubble for cruising and superyachts.
Its chief executive Peter Busfield told reporter Amy Williams some companies servicing superyachts have folded due to the lack of business.
