The Ministry of Justice has found that M?ori are more likely to be victims of crime than any other ethnic group in New Zealand.
The results of a new study showed that 38 percent of M?ori were victimised compared to 30 percent for the general population.
Deprivation, age, disability, sexuality and financial stability were all contributing factors.
A similar report in 2006 reached the same conclusions.
Tim Hampton is the Deputy Secretary of the Sector Group for the Ministry of Justice.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
