MIQ booking changes are being made to make it fairer, after revelations people were using scripts to speed up the booking process.
Scripts that constantly refresh pages and make the process faster have become popular in recent months, but there have been complaints that the use of them makes it more difficult for those do not have access to get through.
Deputy chief executive of managed Isolation and quarantine Megan Main told Morning Report the system is always going to be difficult to get through when demand outstrips supply.
But she said steps will be taken to make it easier to get through the booking system quickly.
[audio_play] "We're constantly making improvements to make it a level playing field."
"There's been a lot of discussion about bots, these scripts that can help people to refresh the page quickly to check dates, to fill in forms," she said.
"In the next few days we'll be making a change to make it more fair, so that you don't need to repopulate the fields when you refresh the page. So that takes quite a step out of the booking process.
"We added recaptchas, which is where you click those little images to make it fairer to make sure that those scripts, don't go through with the booking."
