A new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC, has found human-induced climate change is causing dangerous and widespread disruption in nature and affecting people's lives - despite efforts to reduce the risks.
The report has been signed off by 200 governments globally and focusses on the impacts of climate change, and how we're trying to adapt.
Canterbury University professor of politics Bronywn Hayward was one of the New Zealand researchers involved, and co-led the report's chapter on Cities and Infrastructure.
She spoke to Corin Dann.
