On Tuesday, German chancellor Olaf Scholz will be in Kyiv and Moscow to try and find a way out of this crisis.
The German chancellor is being strongly criticised for his stance on the Ukraine - and allies are wondering whether Germany is reliable.
Today is also election day for a new German president - Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been re-elected with a comfortable majority.
