Olympic organisers have announced spectators will be banned from the Olympics, as Japan extends its Covid-19 state of emergency in the host city Tokyo.
The games begin on 23 July, and already hundreds of athletes and officials from across the globe have arrived in Tokyo.
Prior to this announcement, organizers were planning to allow local fans into the stadiums and arenas at about half capacity.
Former triathlete Hamish Carter won gold at the Athens Olympics in 2004, and bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
He's now the general manager of performance at Triathlon New Zealand.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
