New Zealanders should be paying less for petrol today after the government cut fuel tax by 25 cents.
The war in Ukraine has sent oil prices sky high and seen petrol prices here last week rise a record six percent in just seven days.
The tax relief will last three months and is expected to save up to $17 a tank.
But opposition parties are still on the attack over a cost of living crisis and scoring the latest move as a fail.
