The government is seeking an urgent review of the public health response to water contamination in two Otago towns.
Last week, the Dunedin City Council told residents of Karitane and Waikouaiti to stop drinking water from their taps due to high lead levels in the local supply.
The source of the contamination has not yet been identified, nor is it known when spikes in lead concentration began.
Susie Ferguson spoke to Associate Minister of Health Dr Ayesha Verrall.
