On the ninth day of conflict between Israeli military and Hamas forces, Palestinians have called a general strike against the escalating violence.

Two Thai workers have been killed in Israel by Hamas rockets, injuring ten Israelis. In response, Israel closed the key crossing into Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benhamin Natenyahu says Israel will continue to strike for as long as is necessary to restore quiet to the people of Israel.
CNN's international diplomatic editor Nic Robertson spoke to Corin Dann from Jerusalem.
