New and trainee teachers are entering primary schools without a full understanding of how to teach maths and reading.
That's one startling claim from schools as education bodies call for an overhaul of primary teaching qualifications.
The Principals Federation, the Educational Institute, and the Normal and Model School Association say many graduates have studied teaching for just one year and that is not enough.
