The All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick is back in the team for the first time in 18 months and the engine room enforcer admits to having some nerves.
The 2014 World Rugby player of the year hasn't played since the 2019 World Cup after taking a playing sabbatical in Japan, but he's in the starting XV to play Fiji tomorrow night in Dunedin, as part of 13 changes to the All Blacks run on team.
While Retallick is known among the team for his sometimes overzealous tackling and clear outs at training, he says he has a few butterflies heading into his first test in a year and a half.
Retallick concedes he came back from Japan a little lighter than usual and a little less accustomed to the physical demands of New Zealand and test rugby, but he's confident he'll get through the match against Fiji.
RNZ's Rugby reporter Joe Porter spoke to Corin Dann.
