New Zealand Olympian Sir Mark Todd has been given interim suspension by the British Horseracing Authority for repeatedly hitting a horse with a tree branch.
In a video, Sir Todd runs towards the horse and hits it ten times.
The former equestrian champion now trains racehorses in the UK - but he's unable to while investigations continue.
He's also stepped down as a patron of the World Horse Welfare charity, which calls the treatment of the horse "disturbing".
World Horse Welfare chief executive Roly Owers spoke to Corin Dann.
