The Black Caps opening batter Devon Conway became just the seventh cricketer to score a double century on debut overnight - but England managed to fight back on the second day of the opening Test at Lord's.
England are 111 for 2 in reply to New Zealand's first innings of 378. Conway started the day on 136, but a New Zealand batting collapse left him in danger of missing out on his double hundred, until number 11 Neil Wagner came to the wicket and helped him through.
Conway reached 200 with a six, but was run out shortly afterwards.
His teammate Tim Southee told sports reporter Barry Guy he knows the qualities Conway possesses, having bowled to him a lot in the nets.
