Twenty surf lifesavers and a fleet of inflatable rescue boats are spending Thursday searching the Waikato coast for a King Country man missing with his three children.
Thomas Phillips' ute was found flooded by the high tide on Kiritehere beach on Sunday, and a search has been underway since Monday.
Surf Lifesaving national search and rescue manager Allan Mundy told RNZ reporter Robin Martin about the mission.
