Limited communications have been restored to Tonga, with the local telecommunications provider Digicel saying international calls are now possible.
But they warn full services won't be up and running until the country's severed undersea cable is repaired -- which may take up to four weeks.
There are so many in the global Tongan community desperately waiting to hear from whanau and friends.
Moana Pasifika halfback Manu Paea, who is in Auckland, told Max Towle about the nervous wait for news.
