A third of Australia will still off-limits for many New Zealanders when the trans-Tasman bubble starts running from 19 April.
Western Australia is continuing to enforce mandatory quarantine - which is already catching some aspiring travellers off guard.
A Kiwi travel agent says those with exemptions to travel to there may be able to spend two weeks in another Australian state before crossing the border to side-step self isolation, but she's warning that travellers are doing so at their own risk.
