Travel insurers are warning those eyeing up a trans-Tasman bubble to get cover early and to read the fine print of their policies carefully.
Companies will not provide cover for anyone affected by government-imposed actions including border closures and lockdowns.
It comes as the Government prepares to announce on 6 April when the eagerly awaited trans-Tasman travel bubble will open.
Insurance Council chief executive Tim Grafton spoke to Susie Ferguson.
