Kyiv is still fully in the control of the Ukrainian government.
Overnight there has been large explosions on the outskirts of the city and the Russian armoured convoy remains on track for the city.
While many residents have fled, some are refusing to abandon their homes.
One of them is mother-of-three Olena Gnes, sheltering in Kyiv with her three children - aged five and seven, and a four-month-old.
Her husband, a journalist by profession, joined the local civilian defence unit when the invasion started.
Olena is a YouTuber who creates content about Kyiv, but since the attacks she has been documenting her experience from the shelter.
She told Corin Dann life goes on, even in a bomb shelter with three children.
