It suggests the country's top court is looking to overturn the 1973 Roe v Wade decision, which legalised abortion nationwide.
It's expected around half the country's states would move to ban abortion, if the court strikes down the ruling.
Speaking to media earlier, President Joe Biden called on elected officials across the country to fight to protect the right to choose.
Politico senior legal affairs reporter Josh Gerstein broke the story.
